Dates announced for The Tetbury Music Festival 2012:
Thursday 4 October - Sunday 7 October 2012

This will be the 10th Tetbury Music Festival.

 TETBURY MUSIC FESTIVAL 2011

The five concerts of the 2011 Tetbury Music Festival ran from 6 to 9 October and again featured musicians of international reputation.
The first concert, on the Thursday evening, was given by the superb British pianist Paul Lewis in an all-Schubert programme. This concert was part of Lewis's two-year series of Schubert recitals all over the world.
Graham Kean, the festival's co-director, took a hint from various weddings and wedding anniversaries in the festival family, and so on Friday evening we welcomed the brilliant new ensemble Arcangelo, whose conductor Jonathan Cohen got married in Malmesbury in July. The programme consisted of wedding cantatas: two by Johann Sebastian Bach and a third by another Bach, not one of his many accomplished offspring but Johann Christoph Bach (1642-1703), who may have been Johann Sebastian's uncle.
On Saturday morning the young and much praised Elias Quartet  performed string quartets by Haydn, Janacek and Beethoven.
On Saturday evening the festival's artistic adviser, cellist Steven Isserlis, made a most welcome return, with the pianist Denes Varjon, for a wonderfully varied programme from Beethoven and Liszt to Faure and Thomas Ades.
The festival continued its tradition of drawing on our rich heritage of religious music for the Sunday afternoon concert. The ever-popular choral group The Sixteen made a return visit to Tetbury with motets by the 16th-century Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria. They were joined by the organist Carleton Etherington, with whom we celebrated the 100th anniversary of the organ of St Marys' Church.
